Have had a few busy months, but am missing my blog, I will be back soon. We are so busy doing things, going places, I can't tell you how much this move has meant to both of us. We have NO regrets, absolutely so happy, love Goderich and the area, and are going steady. I will try to start to post again in the next few weeks..have lots to tell and show you... :)
Yesterday, we travelled up to Meaford, On. to see all the scarecrows. It is the 17th year for the 'Scarecrow Invasion'... the downtown area is decorated with over 250 scarecrows alone. It is neat to see. Seems like the whole town gets involved.
It was a fun day!!
Since moving down here, I have been told there are white squirrels in Exeter, On. Yesterday we had some business to do in St. Marys, On.
While talking to the girl, how, we got on the subject is beyond me.
(I did mention, I am into 'photography'...:)
But the subject did come up, and like so many other things in my life, lately, she told me exactly where to go to see them, as she used to live near there.
These little white guys are not albinos but actually colored white (some are a very light shade of beige or off-white) andhave normal colored eyes (versus the classic albino red). This coloration is said to be the result of a genetic mutation.
What a treat to see not one but two, frolicking amongst the trees..enjoy!!
At the International Plowing Match in Mitchell, On. this week..we drove over on Thursday and spent the day, it was huge and so amazing, we both had a great day. Here is some of my pics of the airshow. Here is a link to the awesome crew and planes involved. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowbirds
I grew up in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba and when I was a teenager, the air force base in Portage was a training base for these and other pilots. This really pulls at my heart strings to see them perform. (the original pilots are long time retired but I still love to see their show)
These two and three (planes) below, are piggy-backed...amazing to see..
While taking our dog for a walk on the weekend, in our park, she was attracted to something in the grass.
This fellow was another 'first' for me..couldn't believe how big he was for a 'bug'.
Neat to see though, according to my bug book, is a southern Ontario resident.
I got a few pics before he flew off...
I am wife, mother, nana, friend, head-chef, fledgling fotographer who eats and sleeps fotography !!
It is a constant in my life…love birds, bugs, animals, flowers,
themes, such as reflection, shadows, still life and macro..just about anything catches my eye…it's an obsession !!
In June/13 we moved from Northern Ontario to Goderich, On,the photo ops are endless,
we love this area, come along and follow my endless day trips with me..
And click on pics to enlarge !!
