Sorry everyone, that I haven't posted for awhile, A friend opened a shop in the Mall, and asked me to join the team, part time, well with the setting up and opening and Christmas, part time has turned into full time, but I am enjoying it and will likely be busy until the holidays are over, ( I haven't even started my shopping or baking yet) am missing my photography, but bear with me, I will be back, just wanted to let my faithful followers know, I am alive and well, just busy !! Will try and pop in once in awhile and see your pics, miss everyone.... :)
Went over to Hersey Lake, yesterday, and got a few of this Gray Jay, sometimes called a Whiskey Jack,
when he stopped to pick up the seeds, he lingered longer, (with the peanuts, he grabs one and is gone)
These were taken with my canon 70-200mm lens and I was probably 3-4' away from him. It was a dull day, but I liked these anyway.
A friend of ours, has built a bird blind on his daughters property, he and his granddaughter spend many hours at it, and he graciously invited me to come over and see it. I got many neat shots, and thoroughly enjoyed my visits. Here are a few of my favorites..
A Male Pine Grosbeak..
The weather has been so cool, windy, rainy, gray for 5 days or more... so haven't went out with my camera, so as luck will have it..the pics come to me :)
These are all taken out my windows this morning..
The puddle in the front is enjoyed by this robin anyway and another one is grabbing a snack out my kitchen window...didn't want to open the door as I knew they would 'fly'!!
Had a few minutes this morning, so dropped by Hersey Lake, a great trail system and a great spot for birders..with a bag of peanuts in hand, I was hoping for a Gray Jay, so was quite happy when this fellow, started coming in and grabbing a peanut..
The leaves are so beautiful, but not quite at their peak, looking forward to the next week or so for even richer colors..
My girlfriend called me yesterday, and said 'grab your camera and come over', there was a nest of these critters on her fence, at first we thought they were ladybugs, but with closer examination (with my macro lens) we realized they were not. Although the size of a small ladybug, and similar coloring, are definitely not. Anyway, got a few neat shots of them, and hopefully will be able to I.D. them..
We took a drive yesterday, took advantage of the speed and the rain to get a few shots, taken through the windshield with my canon 70 x 200mm lens...we see many big trucks on the highways due to the railway being shut down years ago, trucks are the only means of transportation of goods into and out of the north..
