The Birds and the Bee...

I have been very fortunate to get some pics in my neighbors beautiful Crabapple tree...
This mom Robin was giving me the eye...

An American Goldfinch, so yellow, so pretty!! We sometimes call them 'wild canaries'

 the female ( I think) usually all yellow, this one does have a dark tinge to her top, so could be a juvenile male too..

 and this gal is having a bad day... ha!

Caught a few birds today, it was a cloudy, damp day, but the rain held off,
Haven't done birds in awhile, so much else to shoot, these fellows were very hungry and active today..

is a Bird Wetland Research and Education Centre near Englehart, Ontario.
We had a great morning there today and here is my Red Winged Blackbird series...
It was a very sunny warm day, with a slight breeze, enjoyed ourselves very much...

This fellow is straddling the two cattails, it was funny to watch before he took off...
A female R. W.B....so different in coloring...

A school of Speckled Trout, trying to keep cool in our current heat wave, at least 2 feet down in the water, this was the best I could get... A pair of White Swans at Cedar Meadows...

Straddling the branches...

Just two more of this fellow, taken yesterday, from my blind,
I won't bore you with more, but laughed at him straddling the branch.. In this one, he hears the clicking and is trying to figure out, whats going on, where is that noise coming from, so funny ~~

We so take sparrows for granted, but they are actually a pretty bird, this White-throated Sparrow shows off his 'yellow' eyebrows, they love to forage under the feeders for droppings !
The Male Brown-headed Cowbird is a bully at the feeder, even gives me the evil eye, when I am near ! Does he not realize, I fill the damn feeders !! LOL

A rainy, dull day today, so took advantage of my feeders at home, still a tad breezey and cool..

Good Morning...Mourning Dove...

Black Swans...

My daughter mentioned to me last evening if I had seen the 'Black Swans' at Cedar Meadows,
of course I hadn't, so made a quick trip over there this morning to check them out.
There is a ditch, with a foot of water, between the road and the fence, so these were taken from
the road, you can just make out the fence in the pics but I was happy with them !

A Hairy Woodpecker today, a beautiful day outside at -3 c.The Pine Grosbeaks were busy too !

A busy Nuthatch, I love how I caught the PB in mid air in his mouth in the second photo, and notice the tongue !! neat !! :)
