These fellows were abundant on the shores of some wharfs we visited, we were told they will sting you...we didn't get too close :)

Barnacle Bill...

Barnacles are in all coastal ecosystems. In a low tide you will see blankets of these fellows on every rock. They also attach themselves to docks and bottoms of boats, here the fellows are trying to remove them.

The Barnacles are an important link in the food chain, one of their predators are the 'Starfish'

We enjoyed seeing some of the natural ocean life along the shores of all of the provinces we visited, will show more in another post.

A pretty area...part 2

While Peggy's Cove is a spot to remember by itself, the fishing areas nearby are just as beautiful... I was absolutely blown away with the scenery of the boats and buildings near by.

A pretty area..part 1

in Nova Scotia, Canada, is of course, Peggy's Cove. You cannot visit the Atlantic provinces without a trip to this lighthouse. It is a beautiful spot and especially to photo buffs !! :)
Mardy was not to be left out...

Another attraction at Peggy's Cove, was our puppy-girl, everyone fussed over her and she loved it..

Do you want to know a secret...

Love the coloring on this couple !! I have never seen coloring like this, the black strip along the mane is so different. Wonder what kind of horses they are? Update...the breed of these horses are "Norwegian Fjord"...a small but very strong breed from Norway.
