is a Bird Wetland Research and Education Centre near Englehart, Ontario. We had a great morning there today and here is my Red Winged Blackbird series... It was a very sunny warm day, with a slight breeze, enjoyed ourselves very much...
This fellow is straddling the two cattails, it was funny to watch before he took off... A female R. W.B....so different in coloring...
This sweet little baby Elk...mom is losing her winter coat, as soon as I slowed down, mom and baby started heading back up the field, so took a pic quickly, fence and all... Little did this Dragonfly know where he landed..on my bug zapper...lucky for him it was just sitting on the picnic table, not in use..
A school of Speckled Trout, trying to keep cool in our current heat wave, at least 2 feet down in the water, this was the best I could get... A pair of White Swans at Cedar Meadows...
Just two more of this fellow, taken yesterday, from my blind, I won't bore you with more, but laughed at him straddling the branch.. In this one, he hears the clicking and is trying to figure out, whats going on, where is that noise coming from, so funny ~~
My 'mothers day' gift is here, a blind, I had mentioned last week that I had ordered it...I love it ! took a quick shot of this fellow from inside, he couldn't figure it out !!! I am going to enjoy this at home and at camp....
Caught this fellow today, he was swimming away from me, when I started clicking, he heard me and turned and scurried back into the culvert, which was great as 'he was coming towards me' now, I was trying to focus on him, and he was rushing, but I was still very pleased with my catch. Notice he has a fish in his mouth too.... Not sure if it is a Mink or Marten or what, any ideas???
We so take sparrows for granted, but they are actually a pretty bird, this White-throated Sparrow shows off his 'yellow' eyebrows, they love to forage under the feeders for droppings ! The Male Brown-headed Cowbird is a bully at the feeder, even gives me the evil eye, when I am near ! Does he not realize, I fill the damn feeders !! LOL
Came across these 'baby bird' feathers on my Lilac tree, I didn't put them there, like this, kind of odd how 3 feathers would have landed on a few leaves...the branch is not near strong enough to support even a small bird nor have I seen any babies at all in my yard. oh well...
I am wife, mother, nana, friend, head-chef, fledgling fotographer who eats and sleeps fotography !!
It is a constant in my life…love birds, bugs, animals, flowers,
themes, such as reflection, shadows, still life and macro..just about anything catches my eye…it's an obsession !!
In June/13 we moved from Northern Ontario to Goderich, On,the photo ops are endless,
we love this area, come along and follow my endless day trips with me..
