An Acrobatic Squirrel at camp...

He would swing down...get some seeds...
swing back up...

eat them...
Swing back down for more...

I had placed birdseed in the small hanging feeder, this fellow found it and was having a ball....he was constantly swaying the tree and feeder but these pics show how he was enjoying the seeds !! He would swing down, grab some seeds, swing back up, eat them and then come down for more !! So cute to watch...

A few of our Pine Siskins...

especially for Vagabonde...
Click on the pics to enlarge, and see the detail of each better..

I guess the most distinguishing mark is the yellow on the wings...

kind of sets them apart from the other similar marked birds...

What we woke up to today...

What the heck is this on May 17...
cold morning -5 C. brrrrrrrr!

A Quacker Couple..

Just came across these from last year !!
Am anxious to get new ones and babies this year.
These were taken on a local lake in the centre of town,
so the different birds are comfortable with people and of
course are fed regularly too, so that helps, not afraid of us
or shy either !!

Supper is ready !!

Just got home from camp, (opening it up), weather is not co-operating
so came home for a few days.
Put a new niger seed sock up and are the Pine Siskins ever thankful !!
Will be busy over the next 4-5 days, then should be free for pic taking again !!

A family of Crows...

I think,

this is a huge nest on the outskirts of town,

this family of crows have taken over it,

I am thinking 'no room' for dad, so he is standing by,

they are getting big quickly...

A furry friend in my yard today..

First squirrel of the season, he has been around for awhile, but haven't got a picture til now, he is looking for a snack,

can't wait for the chipmunks too, I usually have 3 or 4 of both as I feed them constantly and the neighbor behind us does also...

A lovely ending to a beautiful day...

A Mother's Day treat for me..

This Swan, probably the same one as the other day, but there is a pair of them there, was quite interested in me and wasn't too concerned that I was as close as I could get to him, he just wanted a snack !!

This fellow thought I was pretty interesting, he only had one leg and hobbled around on it, and was checking me out !!

Haha!! Not sure if this is a Mothers day peck on the cheek,
or he was telling her to "shut the ... up "!! sweet anyway, eh !!

And leaving the best for last, this is a Yellow-shafted Northern Flicker,
possibly a juvenile, I think a female, she was very vocal and let me take lots of shots of her before leaving !!

All in all, got some nice ones on Mothers Day !! I was elated !! :)

This fellow is saying..

Happy Mothers Day to all!!

This was a treat for me today, first one this year and on Mothers Day!!

He's an American Goldfinch, sometimes called a "Wild Canary" !!
