The Ruby-throated Hummingbird...

made his appearance on the weekend, there is a female, and also another male, coming pretty regular.
I think they have a nest in my one lilac bush, have went there for the last few years...anyway.. always love to see them..
Notice the tongue in this pic...

tomorrow is the Female's turn...

Another 'lifer' for me...

Had a great weekend, in Canada, it was our Victoria Day holiday, known as "May Run"...we were out at our camp finishing up our opening, so much to do, but so enjoyable.
I have not heard of anyone seeing the Eastern Bluebird, this far north, but it may be just me, I was pleasantly surprised to see this family yesterday.

A couple of firsts for me...

Yesterday I took a walk at Hersey Lake with another 'Birder' lady friend, she spotted this Three-toed Woodpecker, near the path, we managed to shoot a few shots before walkers and their dogs came by and he took off, needless to say I was very happy to get what I got, Thanks to Corinne for the nice morning.
Another first for me is this Yellow-rumped Warbler..
Even with the branch in the way, I still wanted to show his markings

A small beauty...

Seems this pic has disapeared, possibly with the earlier problems with blogger..
An American Goldfinch, so yellow, so pretty!! We sometimes call them 'wild canaries'
I have added a second pic too..
the male...
the female ( I think) usually all yellow, this one does have a dark tinge to her top, so could be a juvenile male too..
and this gal is having a bad day... ha!

Protecting his yummies....

Busy weekend, out to open our camp, lots to do but managed to squeeze a few shots in of this chippie, (actually there were 4 of them coming to my 'peanut table' I so enjoy feeding and watching them. They are so funny...love when camp opens....a whole new world of shooting for me...and viewing for you, of course!!!
