Good Morning...Mourning Dove...

A Hooded Merganser..

This fellow is a first for me, others have seen them, I had never, so was quite pleased when he flew in yesterday on our walk. He did land on the other side of the lake, so pic isn't as pleasing as I would have liked, but I will take it !!

A content fellow...enjoying his day...

Out for a drive and hubby said, "there's a groundhog", he stopped the truck and I inched closer and closer to him, what a cute fellow, he was quite content with my presence !!

A visit with two girls today...

Went out for a visit with Blondie and these two colts, have enjoyed watching them grow up big and strong...
they were 'resting' when I got there, but by the time I was out of the truck and up to the fence, they were interested in me too. First time I have been this close to them, and really enjoyed it.

A bright sunny day, so of course the fence caused shadows on them, but still had fun petting them and having a little chat with them. They are so sweet.
Both were loving my attention !! :)One is a month and a half older than the other, but they are close in size and friendship !!

Black Swans...

My daughter mentioned to me last evening if I had seen the 'Black Swans' at Cedar Meadows,
of course I hadn't, so made a quick trip over there this morning to check them out.
There is a ditch, with a foot of water, between the road and the fence, so these were taken from
the road, you can just make out the fence in the pics but I was happy with them !

A few today at GIlles Lake...

My girlfriend, another avid 'foto-taker', and I took a walk around Gilles Lake today, it was a beautiful day for a walk, lots of sunshine and a small breeze to enjoy, the ducks are starting to return for the season, seen 4 or 5 pairs so should be lots of babies this year !!

Budding Lilacs....

Although we had 20 cm of snow on Friday and Saturday, which has set us back a few days, after all, everything was melted, but we knew living in the north, its never over til its over !!! :)
Seems my lilac bushes didn't mind the extra moisture !!

A neat 'find' today ...

We walked around the camp today, it was a beautiful day, 29 degrees C. Came across this Pileated WP hole in a tree, after looking closer, realized what interested the WP's for sure !!

And a beer cap to boot ! Ha!!

First Robin of '10...

Spring is here...

Heard a Robin today, now to get a decent picture... Took a walk out at H.L. today with a girlfriend.. the water is melting nicely on this small lake.
