This fellow is a first for me, others have seen them, I had never, so was quite pleased when he flew in yesterday on our walk. He did land on the other side of the lake, so pic isn't as pleasing as I would have liked, but I will take it !!
I've never seen one of these in 'real life' either BUT one of my daughters carved a life-size one for me. I should post a photo of that one of these days. (She picked up this skill through a client she met - she's a community nurse - and they got talking about his carvings. He's an older gentleman who taught carving for years, and he's taken her under his wing. She's won a number of prizes already too!)
I am wife, mother, nana, friend, head-chef, fledgling fotographer who eats and sleeps fotography !!
It is a constant in my life…love birds, bugs, animals, flowers,
themes, such as reflection, shadows, still life and macro..just about anything catches my eye…it's an obsession !!
In June/13 we moved from Northern Ontario to Goderich, On,the photo ops are endless,
we love this area, come along and follow my endless day trips with me..
And click on pics to enlarge !!

ReplyDeleteVery nice! I would love to get a shot of one of these. They are rare in Alaska, so hopefully sometime I will see one when we are traveling.
