Took this pic outside of Owen Sound, On. at a rock quarry, it was so neat to see, as I have mentioned before, I love these rock formations, and this one was over the top !! Probably 12 to 15" high, so glad we seen it.
Definitely man made, Elaine, we see these formations often in the north, but on a much smaller scale. Here is a link to explain the building of these. http://www.inukshukgallery.com/inukshuk.html
I followed the link and read about the inukshuk. I had not heard of them before, but after doing a bit more searching it appears the Native people in Alaska use them too. Very interesting!
I am wife, mother, nana, friend, head-chef, fledgling fotographer who eats and sleeps fotography !!
It is a constant in my life…love birds, bugs, animals, flowers,
themes, such as reflection, shadows, still life and macro..just about anything catches my eye…it's an obsession !!
In June/13 we moved from Northern Ontario to Goderich, On,the photo ops are endless,
we love this area, come along and follow my endless day trips with me..
And click on pics to enlarge !!
Very strange formation. Was this natural or was it manmade?
