Ruby-Throated Hummer (F) and American Goldfinch.. (F)...

I took the Hummer last evening, just before dusk, and the Goldfinch this morning as I was sitting out with my morning coffee. These two will be leaving my yard soon for the 'sunny south'..and I will miss them so much. They are a constant at my feeders all summer...

    I've had a stray Hummer or two coming through, but not many Goldfinches. It's been a pretty sparse year for birds.

    Lovely portraits of two birds I don't get to see here in Alaska. Nice to see the hummer taking a little rest--they always seem to be in motion.

    Thanks everyone, it is such a treat to have these summer visitors, soon will be time to change the food for the 'winter' friends!! :)

    I love these birds. I see them in my yard everyday, but I never get photos as good as what you do. I love the first one. The dof with the hummer is incredible!
