What am I??

Got back from S.S.M. on Friday and headed out to the camp for the weekend, it is my sanctuary!
This fellow was crossing the lot yesterday, no idea what the heck it is, no legs, only an inch long, so different and only a face, a mom could love...any ideas anyone??
 He is on his side on this one...

    I'd almost bet it's some kind of insect larva.

    I had thought of that too, Mama, have no idea, what it will become, though, have googled it and can't find anything exactly the same, but sure does look like a 'larvae'!! thanks..

    No idea, but it is interesting with all the speckles. I'll google it. If I find out what it is, I'll drop you a note.
